We bought our first RV new in August 2001 and took delivery of it the day after Thanksgiving in November 2001. It was a 2002 National RV Dolphin, a 35 foot gas motorhome. The dealer delivered it right to our house in Woodinville, WA since the original delivery date was late September 2001. The dealer was in Bend, OR and we were not comfortable going over mountain passes to get it home since it had snowed. Our first trip was the 50 mile journey to Camping World in Fife, WA, a suburb of Tacoma for supplies We needed long enough RV water hoses and power extension cords to reach the 30AMP plug on the side of the house, which did not come with the motorhome. Our first overnight stay was when the power went out in the house so we moved into the motorhome for the night. Our second overnight stay was in front of Bill's mothers house in Tumwater, WA for Christmas 2001. We also made another trip to Camping World to get some accessories installed. Mara went with us on the trip to Bill's mothers house, she stayed in the passengers lap and hid under their arm both ways, the motorhome was scary for her. Here are pictures of the Dolphin.
Our first main travel in 2001 was a three day cruise out of Seattle to Vancouver and Victoria, BC on Royal Caribbean's "Radiance of the Seas" in May. We learned that Royal Caribbean was not the level of cruise line we liked, we much preferred Celebrity (owned by Royal Caribbean) and Holland America (owned by Carnival). It was still fun to visit both Vancouver and Victoria, which we had visited by other means before. We actually visited Buchart Gardens, which we hadn't taken the time for on our other trips to Victoria. No pictures right now, they are all in a box in storage and will have to wait till I retrieve the box and scan them into a computer.
In July I bought a digital camera, a Canon G1, a nice 3Mpixel camera. From now on I can include pictures since they are all on the computer.
