November 10 to 16, 2004 - Benson, AZ

We left Deming, New Mexico November 10th and drove 176 miles to the Saguaro Escapees Co-op in Benson, Arizona for a one week stay.  We had last stayed in Benson in October 2002.

We got a really nice lot:

There were quail to keep us entertained:

We witnessed a "sun god" from our campsite, something like a rainbow:

November 13th we drove to Tombstone and Bisbee, Part 1, Part 2

November 14th we drove to Chiracahua National Monument.  We picked a lousy day to visit, it was foggy and there was snow on the ground.

Our only photos of the formations that the national monument is known for.

We will have to come back again when the weather is better.

November 15th we visited the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson, Part 1, Part 2, Part 3

November 16th we finally got to Saguaro National Park.  Here are some photos.

In our trips into Tucson we enjoyed Johnny Carinos and On the Border for meals but didn't find any locally owned places worth reporting on.

We were glad to have come back to the Benson area again.
