March 16, 2005 - Wildflowers in Joshua Tree National Park

March 16th we decided to see the southern part of Joshua Tree National Park, especially since the wildflowers were in full force after this wet winter.

The second picture shows the ocotillo leafing out:

Even the cacti were colorful:

These little flowers (monkey flowers?) were in many spots:

Here is how they looked in the gravel:

The one bud looks like an eye staring at us:
