January 8, 2006 - Biscayne National Park and visit with friends

We started the day by driving down the road to see what we could see of the Turkey Point Nuclear Plant and couldn't see anything before the security station.  Then we decided to revisit the land part of Biscayne National Park.  At the National Park they were setting up for an afternoon family event, very kid oriented.  We looked around and could see the area had taken some hurricane damage including the water was not as full of life as we remembered from December 2003.

Here are views looking north and then south towards the Turkey Point Nuclear Plant:

A stranger asked his daughter to take our picture:

Later in the day Elinore and Dave Barry showed up since they had come up to shop at the local Super Wal-Mart.  We ended up visiting and eating dinner at the Golden Corral.  The Golden Corral was very busy and having trouble keeping up with the demand, but we had a good time with our good friends.
