In August 2005 a ranger at Yoho told us to see Emerald Lake and we didn't get a chance then. Now was our chance and it is obvious from the color why it is called Emerald Lake:
Above the lake is the famous Burgess Shale, one of the most important fossil finds in the world:
This is a telephoto view of the Burgess Shale area, not much to see from here and at this time of year:
Lots of tour buses here, with lots of tourists including a busload from Korea:
The lake is quite beautiful:
We were glad to have finally seen Emerald Lake.
