June 1, 2006 - Fireweed Trail in Kootenay NP, BC

The Fireweed Trail is at the Continental Divide.  This sign says that to the east the water flows to the Atlantic Ocean, actually most of the water will flow to the Arctic Ocean from this area since most of Central Canada and some of the Central USA flows to the Arctic Ocean instead of the Atlantic.

The Fireweed Trail goes into an area that was consumed in a fire in 1968:

It was a bit early in the summer to see much, but this gives the feel of the Fireweed Trail:

We did see some Shooting Stars blooming:

The Fireweed Trail would be better later in the summer.
