April 29 - May 3, 2006 - Spring in Oregon

After the Advisory Council meeting finished at about noon on the 29th we broke camp and drove 216 miles to Pear Tree RV Park in Phoenix, OR, where we stayed in April 2005.  Here is our campsite, where we didn't bother to unhook the car:

April 30th we drove to Coburg, OR and again stopped at Cummins Northwest for maintenance just like in April 2005.  Here is our "campsite":

April 30th we got together with Diane's parents for dinner at the Original Roadhouse in Springfield since they were also in the area for maintenance.

May 1st we checked in, saw some others we know from the Escapade.  We drove around the Eugene area and came back about 1PM and found out they were not getting to us that day, so we set up for the night including the satellite dish (the picture of the dish above was taken the 1st).  That evening Diane's parents, our friends Ken and Joan, and us got together for dinner at the China Sun Buffet in Springfield.  We all had a good time.

We were the first ones taken for work on May 2nd and they were done a little after 11AM.  Our annual chassis maintenance was complete and our brake problem was an adjustment issue, easily fixed.  We then drove 111 miles to Columbia River RV Park in Portland, OR, where we also stayed in April 2005.

We visited with our friend's Mike and Mac for lunch on the 3rd, they live in the campground.  Then we did some shopping and had dinner with Diane's aunt and uncle, Anne and Wayne, who live in Vancouver, WA.

In the morning of the 4th Mike took our picture and also pictures of us leaving - these next four pictures were taken by Mike and sent in email:

Notice the front now says "Dutch tar" instead of "Dutch Star", the "S" came loose so Bill removed it before we lost it on the road somewhere.
