October 27, 2007 - Derring Estate at Cutler, Miami, FL, Part 1

The Deering Estate was a must see recommendation from a zoo keeper.  This sign at the visitors center tells some of the story:

First we walked down the public dock road to see the area.  This is looking north at the Deering Estate:

We paid and expected to take a 12:30PM natural tour.  This is how it looked from the waiting area.

There was no tour this day.  We figured it was too wet from the rains but the person at the gate didn't know there was no tour.
