We started the wildlife drive, which costs $5 or an America the Beautiful pass, which we have. Quickly we came to a place with birds, including this brown pelican.
This Yellow-crowned Night Heron was right by the side of the road.
Just up from the night heron was this photogenic Little Blue Heron:
A brown anole lizard, an invader species.
Roseate Spoonbills in the trees:
Double-breasted cormorants and gulls.
Another pied-billed grebe.
A snowy egret in breeding plumage with the cormorants and gulls:
A horseshoe crab shell in the water.
Walking back we got another nice photo of the Little Blue Heron.
Lots of white pelicans plus white ibis, egrets and other birds:
Watching the spoonbills while a night heron and white ibis are nearby.
