We were hoping to see bighorn sheep by Checkerboard Mesa, but did not. But we did stop:

Then on we went. We stopped at a rest area with this nice map of the area:

We also saw some fall colors.

Unfortunately there were many construction zones so it took us 2-1/2 hours to get to the Bryce Canyon Visitors Center:

We only had time to see the main view points so after eating our picnic lunch we headed to Bryce Point first:


Bryce Canyon is a bigger and more diverse version of Cedar Breaks. We bet this really looks great after a rain, just like Cedar Breaks did.
