May 1 to 11, 2008 - Vancouver and Olympia, Washington

May 1st we got ready to leave Carrier and Sons and while putting stuff away we saw the UPS truck come at 10AM.  Our part arrived and was installed and tested in about 10 minutes.  We dumped our tanks, paid them and headed north.  We stopped to get fuel in Coburg and drove up to Vancouver, Washington to park in front of Diane's aunt Anne's house after 141 miles.  Anne and Wayne were happy to see us.

We had a great visit with Anne, Wayne, along with cousin Debbie and her two children Shelby and Brady who live close by and visit often.  We also got to see Shelby's dog Lily all grown up.

Visiting photos around the house and yard

We only ate out once and that was because Anne and Wayne had a party to go to so we took advantage of it and went to Burgerville.

April 5th we moved up to Outback RV Park in Rochester, WA for a week.  The drive was 88 miles.  Our last stay here was in August 2007.

This is our base camp to visit Bill's mother Elena and local friends in the Olympia area.

This was the first we had seen Elena since Bill's sister Tanya had died.  It has been a tough time for us all.

Here are some photos of Elena's yard:

The first year the dogwood has bloomed.  Maybe it liked the colder winter and spring?

Mother's Day Brunch at Budd Bay Cafe:

While in the area we visited with Rex, Michael, and at Carl, Laureen and Fuchsia's we also caught up with David.

On top of the Budd Bay Cafe we also ate at Pelligrinos, Casa Romas, Black Bear Diner, the Lucky Eagle Casino, the Red Wind Casino and a couple teriyaki places.
