October 19, 2009 - Southern part of Skyline Drive, Part 1

Driving east from Staunton, VA up to Waynesboro we could see the fall colors.

At Waynesboro we headed north into Shenandoah National Park and the Skyline Drive.  This was our first time on the southern third of the drive.

Some photos:

There are bits of fall colors, but mostly oranges and very little red.

There is a large housing development close to Seattle called "Talus" and we think that is a bad omen considering what talus means.

Eventually we came to the the intersection where we stopped heading south in 2007.  Now we were on a familiar path.

One of the famous Shenandoah white tailed deer.
