January 1 to 10, 2009 - Hesperia, Menifee and Indio, CA (FMCA rally)

We enjoyed New Years Day with the family and on January 2nd we drove 72 miles to NACO Wilderness Lakes in Menifee, CA.   Our last stay here was in January 2007.

The next day we drove the CRV to Vista for lunch at Islands and then to San Marcos to return something at Fry's Electronics.  It was a long drive to return something, but we were closer to a Fry's Electronics than from Hesperia or our next few stops.

Laurie and Odel came down to visit us from their campsite in Redlands.

We took advantage of good food in the area and repeated a visit to Taste of India in Temecula, found the 4-star Thai restaurant, Bangkok Chef, in Temecula, and had dinner at the Macaroni Grill in Temecula.

January 6th we got up early and drove 95 miles to the FMCA Western Area Rally in Indio, CA.  We ended up with a campsite back to back with Diane's parents.  Our last visit to this rally was in January 2007.  When we parked we had room around us.

The room around us did not last:

Parade on January 8th

After the parade some of us Escapees Boomers got together at the Robnick's motorhome.

On the 9th even more Boomers came for dinner and socializing at Burgers and Beer.

We also ate at Panda Express and the Augustine Casino during the rally.   It was a fun time.
