September 9, 2009 - Sault Ste. Marie, MI and ON, Part 1

Our neighbor left early so we had a view of the lodge on September 9th.

Double-Crested Cormorants in front of our motorhome:

We headed to Canada for a day trip.  We had stayed in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario in September 2005, so we were familiar with the city.

It cost us $2.50 each way to take the bridge.

Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

This next photo was taken with Bill' cell phone camera at the Canadian Tire store in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, so it is not very good.  This is the first time we had seen a wind generator on sale in a store.  We figured the electric rates must be high here.

We knew to eat at an Italian place since that is what this city is known for.  We saw the Italian restaurant called Ginos we thought we had tried in 2005 but another just up the road was Giovanni's that looked good so we stopped.  Once inside the two of us both realized Giovanni's looked familiar.  It turns out it was the place we tried in 2005 and it was still quite good.

The bear sculptures on waterfront were painted a bit differently and there were only three instead of four.

This is the boat we took the lock tours on in 2005.

The bridge across the Saint Mary's River between the U.S. and Canada.

Nice flowers:

In the distance is the Elks lodge:

Another nice statue.

We needed to pick up our mail package so back to the U.S. we went.

Slower going through the border than into Canada.

The border patrol agent was more interested in how we liked towing our Honda CRV than anything else, but we think he was waiting for the computer.
