September 14 to 17, 2009 - Bowling Green and Zanesville, Ohio

We left Standish, Michigan and headed south.  This was the first time Diane drove the motorhome since her injury and she did fine.  There was a Costco right off I-75 so we stopped and stocked up.  Then we headed into Ohio and stopped for the night at Fire Lake Camper Park in Bowling Green, Ohio after 203 miles of driving.

We chose to be off the entrance road instead of the main part of the campground.  It was further from the highway.

We were facing west and had a nice sunset.

September 15th we drove 179 miles to Wolfie's Campground in Zanesville, Ohio.

Our friend's Joy and Phil were a few sites away with their red truck and motorhome:

The four of us went to Tumbleweed Sunset Grill for dinner and were quite happy.  Phil was thrilled with his fajitas since he was craving Mexican.

After dinner we drove up to where we could see Zanesville's famous "Y Bridge":

Phil entertaining with a story:

This truck said "New Age Redneck" outside the mediocre Chinese buffet restaurant we tried on the 16th.

September 17th Day Trip to Longaberger Basket Factory

Since Joy did not get her Maple Caramel Walnut ice cream we looked for the famous place in Zanesville for ice cream and found it.  Tom's Ice Cream Bowl was quite good, their maple walnut was not fantastic, but it was quite good.  Their black raspberry was really good from Bill's perspective.

We enjoyed many meals out on this visit.  It was good to spend time with Joy and Phil.  It turns out both Bill and Phil had worked for the same guy at different times, it really is a small world.

Now we are off to see some relatives.  After that the four of us will meet up again and spend more time together.
