June 29 to July 8, 2011 - Ilwaco, WA

We leisurely got ready to travel on June 29th since it was only a short drive to our next campground.  We took the long way so we could come in easily with the motorhome and after 2.9 miles we were in our campsite at Eagle's Nest RV Resort in Ilwaco, WA.  Since we did not need to use a satellite dish we went for a campsite in section B (backside) instead of T (topside).  The last time we were camped in this campground was in July 2010.

It was raining when we arrived so the sunscreen was not put on until later.

A view up the road towards the entrance.

We went to visit Vickie and took a photo of Blackie.

Nice rhododendron in front of our campsite.  This is very late for a rhododendron to be blooming, which shows how cool the spring and summer have been.

Diane's parents camped locally on the 1st and Kimberly and family came and rented a place for a few days in Long Beach on the 2nd.

Emily loved Rosalie's water bottle.

Kimberly and family headed home on the 5th.

Next Misty, Sabrina and Taylor came.  Some were camera shy.

Some were not.

Pandi didn't care.

July 8th we all went to the store in Chinook so the girls could work on projects.  Here is Chinook Harbor this beautiful day.

Afterwards we went over to Astoria for lunch at Beach Burrito/Subway.  After lunch we drove to Fort Clatsop.

Then we drove up to the Astoria Column.  Somehow we had missed doing this attraction on previous visits to the area.

We ate at El Compadre in Long Beach, Urban Cafe, Beach Burrito and Golden Luck in Astoria and Dooger's in Warrenton during our stay.
