September 17, 2003 - Webster, NY (Rochester area)

To avoid Hurricane/Tropical Storm Isabelle we headed east from Lockport, but decided to take two days to get to Henderson Harbor.  We drove the two lane roads right through Rochester, NY, and ended up just east of it at a city park, Webster Family Campground in Webster, NY.  We only drove 88 miles, but going through Rochester was slow going.

Here is our campsite, we needed to put the satellite dish way out and needed a lot of water hose:

It was nice to have internet again.  We drove into Rochester and Irondequoit and found them very scenic and someplace to come back to.  Then we headed for the Webster park on Lake Ontario just before sunset:

What a nice place and a nice campground.  We were unhappy we had to leave, but we knew the weather was going bad.
