2003 Travels

We started the year in Portola Valley CA and on the way home to Woodinville WA we kept running into other campers who thought we were heading south, they told us we were going the wrong way.  We decided they were right, so we started planning going full-time so we could spend the winter in the south and see more of the world.  Our awning billowed on the trip north causing damage, but it didn't deter our plans.  We made another one month trip to southern California in March for some follow-up work at the National RV factory, to visit Diane's sister and to go to some rallies.  After we got back we moved on our plan to becoming full time RVers and drove down the driveway for the last time in July.  We soon drove across the U.S. to Maine for the fall colors and ended the year in Florida City FL.   We put 12,681 miles on the motorhome, camped 235 nights at 79 campsites, and put 14,003 miles on the tow car.   We camped in many states for the first time, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.  Most of these states were new to both of us.
