July 7-10, 2005 - Forks, WA

We had realized that even though we had taken US101 on the Olympic Peninsula we had not stopped and seen the sights.  Bill's sister used to live in the Northwest corner so his family would always drive right through.   We would base camp at Port Angeles and it was too far for most day trips.  We decided to stay in Forks, WA, the rain capital of the state.  The drive on the 7th from Copalis Beach was 99 miles and we landed at Forks 101 RV Park.  Here is our campsite, and yes it had rained:

On the 8th we explored the local beachs.

On the 9th we drove to the furthest NW point in the lower 48, Cape Flattery.

On the 10th we drove into the Hoh Rain Forest.

This area was well worth stopping at and seeing the local sights.
