July 8, 2005 - Rialto Beach, LaPush and Ruby Beach

On the 8th we decided to explore the local ocean beaches, so we started by driving to Rialto Beach.  These beaches are not for swimming, the water is cold and the surf strong.  They are beautiful:

Next door is the Indian town of LaPush, we stopped and had a good lunch at the River's Edge Restaurant.  Bill recommends the Fish-n-Chips.  This is the view around the restaurant and harbor:

Now that we had eaten we drove south, all the way to Ruby Beach in the Olympic National Park:

This stream was running hard, it was brown and logs were coming down fast.  It was loud and dangerous:

The first picture is a closer look at the seastack with holes and the second is Destruction Island offshore:

The Pacific Ocean shows its raw power and beauty on this coastline.
