June 20, 2012 - Woodland, WA

We left Eugene and headed north.  Since Bill's mother was in Alaska we had flexibility on where to stop so we called a campground we used to visit a lot when we first went on the road.  They had room so after 161 miles we were camped at Columbia Riverfront RV Park in Woodland, WA.  Our last stay was in November 2002.

We ended up in a very nice campsite for one night.

Our view of the Columbia River:

Behind the campground you can see Mount Saint Helens:

And Mount Hood:

And even an immature bald eagle:

But the main fun is seeing ships go by on the Columbia River like this one:

Also there are nice sunsets:

Since Bill's mother was visiting the relatives in Alaska we Skype video chatted with them and were able to show them our nice campsite along with a ship and the start of the sunset.  We think they can see why people like this campground.

It was nice to stop here again though the nightly price had doubled since 2002 and was higher than Portland Fairview RV Park, which is only about a half hour away.

Now we are off to Monroe again.
